New insights on Quaternary ecosystems

The Quaternary Period is the most recent of the three periods of the Cenozoic Era. The Quaternary Period is characterized by a continous alternation between calids and cold periods. The associated environmental changes with these cycles of climatic changes have been thoroughly studied by the using of chemical, geological and biological proxies. These works have tried explaining and describing the differents scenarios of the evolution and migrations of the ancient human's populations, and its impact over ecosystems, especially with the extinction of the megafauna from news colonized by our ancestors. Nevertheless, there are many questions about these topics... and, in this, the new generations of palaeontologist have a lot to say!
